19. FUND BALANCE EXPENDITURE FOR PURCHASE OF BODY ARMOR Approve the expenditure from Juvenile Probation Fees fund balance to purchase bullet resistant body armor vests and carriers. Total cost estimated not to exceed $146,000. In addition, pursuant to A.R.S. § 42-17106, transfer FY 2009-10 expenditure appropriation in the amount of $146,000 from Non-Departmental (470) Non-Departmental Grants Fund (249) Non-Recurring/Non-Project (0001) to Juvenile Probation (270) Juvenile Probation Special Fee Fund (228) Non-Recurring/Non-Project (0001). The Maricopa County Juvenile Probation Department (MCJPD) requests BOS approval to purchase approximately 195 bullet resistant vests (body armor) and carriers designed to enhance the safety of Juvenile Probation and Surveillance Officers when performing field work in the community.
