20. EXEMPTION FROM COUNTY MARKINGS AND ISSUANCE OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL LICENSE PLATES Approve an exemption from County markings and issuance of non-governmental license plates per A.R.S. § 38-538.03 for vehicle #11917 issued to the Juvenile Probation Department Drug Court and Special Supervision Unit (DCSSU) as this vehicle will be utilized in surveillance operations. Upon approval of this agenda item vehicle information including year, make, model and vehicle identification number will be provided to the Clerk of Board. This vehicle will be assigned to a JPD Surveillance Officer of the DCSSU. JPD Surveillance Officer’s, as part of the DCSSU, travel far distances to monitor youth who require special attention and constant monitoring while in the community. To promote safety, Surveillance Officer vehicles must be exempt from County markings and issuance of non-governmental license plates. (C-27-12-002-2-00)
