JUVENILE PROBATION REQUEST FOR REVIEW OVER THRESHOLD Per the Board approved FY 2015 Budget Guidelines and Priorities, approve allowing the Office of Management & Budget to review the following request(s) over threshold: •Funding to offset “adjustment for chairman’s budget” $214,386 (Operating expense, Fund 100, Priority #4) •Restore funding to offset special revenue shortfall $283,731 (Operating expense, Fund 100, Priority #4) •Funding of 3 new positions (2 PO’s, 1 SO), start 1/1/15, $97,604 (Operating expense, Fund 100, Priority #4) •Funding to offset vacancy rate to 4% $287,050 (Operating expense, Fund 100, Priority #4) •Funding to offset discontinuance of JABG grant $134,892 (Operating expense, Fund 100, Priority #4) •Funding to offset vacancy rate to 4% $1,330,287 (Operating expense, Fund 255, Priority #4) •Funding to offset “adjustment for chairman’s budget” $244,457 (Operating expense, Fund 255, Priority #4) •Funding, non-recurring budget, food service $ 1,230,942 (Non-recurring expense, Fund 255, Priority #4) •Funding from fund balance to offset revenue shortfall $74,482 (Non-recurring expense, Fund 275, Priority #4) For the past several years, the County and the Juvenile Probation Department have weathered the recent recession, budget reductions and staffing cutbacks; all the while commensurate workload has increased. This agenda request is vital to the Juvenile Probation Department’s ability to continue working with the County as a justice partner in order to preserve and continue public safety, promote and advance effective and efficient work processes and to continue development and maintenance of innovative programs, practices and policies.
