18. REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF SURPLUS ITEMS Authorize the Juvenile Probation Department (JPD) to sell surplus radio frequency identification equipment (RFID) to Codex Corporation (Codex), in the amount of $21,150. The Juvenile Probation Department purchased RFID equipment to upgrade the monitoring of minors housed in the two juvenile detention facilities. The surplus RFID equipment was developed and dedicated specifically for JPD detention operations and can only be modified by Codex. Therefore it only has value to Codex. The JPD no longer has any current or foreseeable use of the equipment. Allowing Codex to purchase the equipment relieves JPD of any unknown disposal costs. Codex has agreed to purchase the surplus items in the amount of $21,150. THIS ITEM REQUIRES UNANIMOUS CONSENT OF THE BOARD. (C-27-15-002-2-00)
