MEDICAL EXAMINER LOAN REPAYMENT ASSISTANCE PLAN Approve the Medical Examiner Loan Repayment Assistance Plan to assist eligible medical examiners working for Maricopa County in the repayment of education loans. The Plan will reimburse eligible medical examiners for payments made on their student loans up to $6,250 per quarter or $25,000 per year. The Plan provides a maximum total benefit of $100,000. In addition, create a new appropriation entitled “Medical Examiner Retention,” (MER0), in the Medical Examiner’s Office (D290) General Fund (100) budget. Pursuant to A.R.S. 42-17106(B) approve the following transfer of expenditure authority in the FY 2018 Revised Budget: 1. Decrease Non Departmental (D470) General Fund (100) Operating (OPER) in the line “Unreserved and General Contingency” (4711) by the amount of $325,000. 2. Increase the Medical Examiner’s Office (D290) General Fund (100) Medical Examiner Retention (MER0 appropriation by the amount of $325,000. These actions will have a net impact of zero on the Countywide budget. (C-29-18-002-6-00)
