REQUEST FOR REVIEW OVER BASELINE Approve an exception to the FY 2019 Budgeting Guidelines and Priorities allowing the Budget Office to review the following Medical Examiner’s requests over Baseline for the General Fund totaling $100,000: 1. $100,000 in Fund 100 (General Fund) Non-Recurring 2. Review of the following one-time item is requested: The OME will use this funding to purchase Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software. This can allow a transfer of information among laboratory equipment and the existing case management system, providing for a more efficient and streamlined process. A LIMS will reduce the time involved in what is currently a manual process with multiple possibilities for transcription errors. The software provides case and sample tracking; barcode labeling and scanning; instrument interface; and workflow and data tracking support, thereby offering an audit trail. The overall laboratory testing process is made more efficient, with more secure data storage, reduced data entry error, and reduced use of paper in a more electronic environment. Approval of this action will allow the Budget Office to review this Medical Examiner's request. (C-29-18-007-2-00)
