38. RESOLUTION TO MARICOPA COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION VOLUNTEER AND PARK HOST PROGRAM Adopt a Resolution to extend Self Insured Trust worker’s compensation insurance coverage for the volunteers and Park Hosts in the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation (Parks) Volunteer Program to be effective upon Board approval. Maricopa County Parks and Recreation has a volunteer base of 300+ individuals, with more than 125 active volunteers and park hosts. Volunteers and Park Hosts assist with distribution of park information, greeting customers, park maintenance and clean-up, facility operations and other duties as assigned. Volunteers work directly with the park staff and the public. The County Self Insured Trust Declaration (section I.G.7), defines an "employee" covered by the Trust to include volunteers under the direction and control of County Employees if the program is authorized by Board of Supervisor resolution.
