71. BIDS AND AWARD TO CONSTRUCT THE WHITE TANK MOUNTAIN REGIONAL PARK CAMPGROUND ELECTRICAL IMPROVEMENTS Authorize the Chairman to call for bids to construct the White Tank Mountain Regional Park Campground electrical improvement and award a contract to the lowest responsible bidder if the bid does not exceed the engineer's estimate by more than 10%. The “Campground Electrical Improvements” includes construction & installation of four 600 Amp Service Entrance Stations and forty 50 Amp pedestals to each campsite. Trenching and conduit will be required as well. The project engineer, Bridge & Paxton Engineers, has prepared the specifications and contract documents for this project. This project will provide additional services requested by the public and increase revenue at White Tank Mountain Regional Park. (C-30-11-050-M-00)

2. TERMINATION OF CONTRACT BETWEEN R.K. SANDERS, INC. AND MARICOPA COUNTY Terminate the Contract Agreement (C-30-11-050-M-00) between Maricopa County (acting through the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors) and R.K. Sanders, Inc. (“Contractor”) entered into April 11, 2012. The contract was for construction of “White Tank Campground Electrical Upgrades” (PRD12-002). The effective date of the contract termination is the date of Board approval. Maricopa County Parks and Recreation (“Parks”) is requesting to terminate the contract between R.K. Sanders, Inc. and Maricopa County. The termination would allow Parks to complete the project via other means. The Contractor has missed the contract completion date and the agreed-upon extension date. The Contractor has also failed to comply with a supplementary agreement, including another completion date.
