55. RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF MARICOPA PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO APPROVE AND SUBMIT FUNDING APPLICATIONS Adopt a Resolution to authorize the Director of Maricopa Parks and Recreation Department to approve and submit funding applications for funding distributed by the Arizona State Parks Board including, but not limited to, Heritage Funds, the State Lake Improvement Funds, Recreational Trails Program, Land and Water Conservation Funds, Law Enforcement and Boating Safety Funds, and Statewide OHV Program. The Congress of the United States has authorized the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) as a federal-aid assistance program to help states provide and maintain recreational trails for motorized and non-motorized recreational use. The State of Arizona has established an Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Fund to fund a variety of off-highway vehicle recreation projects referred to herein as the OHV Program. These funds, along with other recreation grant programs are available to eligible applicants for acquiring lands and developing facilities for public purposes.
