57. PURCHASE ARIZONA STATE TRUST LAND IN THE VICINITY OF NEW RIVER ROAD/LINDA LANE FOR RIGHT OF WAY FOR THE MARICOPA TRAIL Authorize the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department (300) to be present at an Arizona State Land Department public auction to bid on and purchase a perpetual right of way for the purpose of building a partial segment of the Maricopa Trail. The appraised price is $15,741.00. Funding is available in the FY13 General Fund County Improvement Fund (445) for this purpose. The Arizona State Land Department requires a total appraised price of $15,741.00 for the purchase of the trail alignment right of way east of the trailhead site at SEC 7th Street/New River Road and Linda Lane, ASLD #16-110880-00-001 (1.06 acres). The successful bidder is also responsible for paying the selling and administrative fees, not to exceed 3% of the purchase price, at the time of the auction. This land is located in Section 15 & 16, T6N R3E. The acquisition of this right of way will allow for the completion of the Maricopa Trail, Segment 16, and connection to the Spear S Ranch Trailhead, the Cave Creek Regional Park, and the Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area. This trail is part of the Maricopa County Regional Trail System Plan, adopted by the Board of Supervisors on August 16, 2004. (C-30-13-012-8-00)

PURCHASE ARIZONA STATE TRUST LAND IN THE VICINITY OF WHITE TANK PARK FOR RIGHT OF WAY FOR THE MARICOPA TRAIL Authorize the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department (300) to be present at an Arizona State Land Department public auction to bid on and purchase a perpetual right of way for the purpose of building a partial segment of the Maricopa Trail. The appraised price is $42,966.00. Funding is available in the FY14 General Fund County Improvement Fund (445) for this purpose. The Arizona State Land Department requires a total appraised price of $42,966.00 for the purchase of the trail alignment right of way south of White Tank Park connecting to the White Tank 3 Flood Retarding Structure, ASLD #16-108107-00-001 (2.80 acres). The successful bidder is also responsible for paying the selling and administrative fees, not to exceed 3% of the purchase price, at the time of the auction (Total amount $44,255.00). This land is located in Sections 4 & 5, T2N R2W and sections 31 & 32. T3N R2W. The acquisition of this right of way will allow for the eventual completion of the Maricopa Trail, Segment 35, and connection to White Tank Park and the Gila River.
