45. APPLICATION SUBMITTAL FOR LAND FOR RECREATION OR PUBLIC PURPOSE FOR MARICOPA TRAIL SEGMENT #35 Approve application submittal to Arizona State Land Department for the Application for Right of Way on State Lands for Maricopa Trail Segment #35. Approve submittal of application to the Arizona State Land Department (“ASLD”) the Application for Right of Way on State Lands for a portion of the Maricopa Trail, a four foot wide recreation trail connecting our County Parks. We require a 10 foot wide Right of Way for the entire length of approximately 2,221 feet to accommodate construction and maintenance. The proposed trail crosses through a section of ASLD that connects White Tank Outfall Channel #3 to McDowell Road (Maricopa Trail Segment #35). Starting from South Tuthill Road (east of South Verrado Way), this portion of the proposed trail is in an undeveloped area of State Land that will cross under the I-10 Freeway to connect to McDowell Road. The current plan calls for construction of this trail in May 2016. There are no known environmental or cultural concerns specific to this land. Additionally, authorize the Chairman to execute and process the subject application documents on behalf of Maricopa County (Supervisorial District 4). (C-30-15-029-M-00)
