35. JOINT PROGRAM AND MARKETING AGREEMENT WITH RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT, INC. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Joint Program and Marketing Agreement between the Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) and the Maricopa County (County) for the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department. This revenue generating agreement will establish a relationship between the County and REI and delineate authorities and responsibilities for the parties to work in harmony to supplement the other’s strengths as they work together to accomplish common goals and objectives for the education, cooperative marketing, operation and management of sustainable outdoor recreational opportunities and reflect the mutual interest in supporting and promoting healthy outdoor lifestyles within all the Maricopa County Regional Parks including the Maricopa Trail (Parks). Both the County and REI engage in Activities that provide highly interactive and hands-on experiences. REI will teach participants how to recreate within the Parks responsibly while challenging them to learn new outdoor skills and experience the healthy and transformational lifestyle the outdoors provides, thereby benefiting the public and the community in support of the Parks’ mission and vision and appropriate standards. This agreement also provides for the County’s Director of Parks or designee with the authority and charged with the responsibility for proper administration of the agreement. The term of the agreement is four (4) years with a provision for extension by a written amendment mutually agreed to by the parties. This item is located in all Supervisorial Districts. 38. AMENDMENT TO THE JOINT PROGRAM AND MARKETING AGREEMENT WITH RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT INC. Approve and execute the Amendment One (“Amendment”) to the Joint Program and Marketing Agreement between Recreational Equipment Inc. (“REI”) and Maricopa County (“County”) (C-30-20-009-M-00) (“Agreement”) for the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department. This revenue generating Agreement establishes a relationship between the County and REI. It delineates authorities and responsibilities for the parties to work in harmony to supplement the other’s strengths as they work together to accomplish common goals and objectives for the education, cooperative marketing, operation, management of sustainable outdoor recreational opportunities, and reflects the mutual interest in supporting and promoting healthy outdoor lifestyles within all the Maricopa County Regional Parks including the MaricopaTrail. As a result of the on-going success of this collaboration, both REI and the County desire to enter into this Amendment to the Agreement for an extension of the Term for five (5) years beginning February 1, 2024, through January 31, 2029.
