104. EXERCISE BLM LAND LEASE AT SAN TAN MOUNTAIN REGIONAL PARK Approve and execute the Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management (“BLM”) Recreation or Public Purposes Lease for the 6,908.6 acres of land at San Tan Mountain Regional Park (“Park”) that is was under a Cooperative Recreation Management Agreement (“CRMA”) (C-30-99-014-2-00) until 2013, followed by a contribution of services to manage the Park in accordance with the BLM approved Park plan. The term of the lease is twenty-five (25) years with a privilege of renewal. Maricopa County (“County”) originally submitted a lease application on June 1, 1999. While pending completion of the BLM’s Lower Sonoran Resource Management Plan, the BLM allowed the County to manage the Park through a CRMA through September 9, 2013. On November 25, 2013, the BLM accepted the County’s offer of the contribution of services to continue management of the Park in accordance with the BLM approved Park plan. On September 15, 2021, the County requested the BLM to move forward with the lease application. On July 15, 2024, the BLM received a letter from Pinal County concurring with the BLM to enter a lease with the County. On August 13, 2024, the BLM issued a letter offering the lease and requested the County sign the lease document. Supervisory District #1.
