35. MARICOPA COUNTY EMPLOYEE LEAVE PLAN (“MASTER LEAVE PLAN”) CHANGES Approve an amendment to the Maricopa County Employee Leave Plan (“Master Leave Plan”) changing the way Holiday Pay is calculated. The current policy states that Employees with regular work schedules of 40 hours per week shall receive eight (8) hours of compensation for a Legal Holiday, and an employee’s regular work schedule will be determined by taking the average of the employee’s four (4) prior work weeks. The recommendation is to remove “An employee’s regular work schedule will be determined by taking the average of the employee’s four (4) prior work weeks..” since employees work schedules will be entered into the system and used to calculate Holiday Pay. The Master Leave Plan contains the rules for paid and unpaid leave that apply to unclassified and contract employees, and on a limited basis to temporary employees. The Master Leave Plan also applies to classified employees who are not covered by Rule 12 of the Maricopa County Employee Merit Rules. (C-31-09-018-6-01)
