30. AMEND SCHEDULE OF PREMIUM PAY RATES Amend the Schedule of Premium Pay Rates applicable to all employees paid through the Maricopa County payroll system. Human Resources recommends adding a Courtroom Services Supervisor Training Day Off Differential to help meet the training needs of the Clerk of the Court. This action is consistent with the Maricopa County Compensation Plan (B7000), Multilingual Pay Policy (B7005), and Pay Differentials Policy (B7004). Previous amendments: 06/19/2013 (C-31-13-024-6-00), 07/30/2014 (C-31-13-024-6-02), 05/06/2015 (C-31-13-024-6-03), and 05/20/2015 (C-31-13-024-6-04). Per the Clerk of the Court, Courtroom Clerks must be present in a courtroom to ensure an accurate record of a hearing is documented for public record. The Court operates Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This prevents the Clerk of the Court from delivering essential training to staff without interfering with courtroom coverage. To remedy this, the Clerk of the Court is implementing a new training program that will require Courtroom Clerk Supervisors to frequently work a full shift on Saturdays beyond their normal work schedule without the ability to flex the time off during the pay period. This differential will allow these employees to receive their regular hourly rate for the mandatory hours worked on the extra shift. (C-31-13-024-6-05)

28. This action is consistent with the Maricopa County Compensation Plan (B7000) and Multilingual Pay Policy (B7005). Human Resources recommends merging the Pay Differentials Policy with the Premium Pay Rates and rescinding the Pay Differentials Policy (B7004). By merging the two documents, the County streamlines its processes. Departments and employees will no longer have to switch between two documents to understand and follow premium pay rate procedures. By incorporating the Pay Differentials Policy with the Premium Pay Rates, there is no longer any need for the Pay Differentials Policy. (C-31-13-024-6-07)
