31. RESCIND COUNTY POLICY HR2404 – PREFERENTIAL PLACEMENT PROGRAM Approve the rescission of Policy HR 2404 Preferential Placement Program. The provisions of the policy relating to placement for individuals with disabilities under the ADA has been supplanted by the current HR 2429 Reasonable Accommodation for Applicants and Employees. The elimination of the remainder of the policy will require employees affected by a Reduction in Force (RIF) to apply and compete equally with other qualified candidates for open positions, eliminating the requirement that Appointing Authorities first give special consideration to employees affected by a RIF over other qualified employees. This rescission is consistent with the proposed changes to HR 2403 Reductions in Force submitted concurrently. (C-31-18-010-M-00)
