41. CIVIC DUTY LEAVE – 2024 PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTIONS Approve Civic Duty Leave for the 2024 Primary and General Elections. Civic Duty Leave Authorization – Primary Election: • Training and set up for the election day that interferes with employees’ normal hours worked. • Monday, July 29th • Tuesday, July 30th • Wednesday, July 31st - For employees who support MCTEC receiving and counting ballots (e.g., ballot counting, warehouse support, receiving site support, poll worker support, etc.) on election night and cannot report to work on Wednesday for part or all day due to the late night. • July 26th to 30th - For IT staff who assist with voting location technology setups and support. • July 26th to 31st - For truck drivers who assist with packing, loading, and driving delivery trucks to and from vote centers. Civic Duty Leave Authorization – General Election: • Training and set up for the election day that interferes with employees’ normal hours worked. • Monday, November 4th • Tuesday, November 5th • Wednesday, November 6th - For employees who support MCTEC receiving and counting ballots (e.g., ballot counting, warehouse support, receiving site support, poll worker support, etc.) on election night and cannot report to work on Wednesday for part or all day due to the late night. • November 1st to 5th - For IT staff who assist with voting location technology setups and support. • November 1st to 6th - For truck drivers who assist with packing, loading, and driving delivery trucks to and from vote centers. Civic Duty Leave allows County Employees to support County Elections and replaces the regular work hours employees miss when they work an election (makes them whole).
