24. ACCEPT ARRA GRANT FOR ENHANCING EDUCATION THROUGH TECHNOLOGY ED TECH STANDARDS SUPPORT PROGRAM Approve and accept grant funding, an award through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 in the amount of $5,010 from Arizona Department of Education through Pima County to Maricopa County though its Education Service Agency for Enhancing Education through Technology (EETT - TITLE IID) Ed Tech Standards Support. The term of the grant is anticipated to begin September 1, 2010, and run through June 30, 2011. Authorize the Chairman to sign all documents related to these grant funds, as applicable. MCESA indirect rate for FY 2010 is 33.6 percent. The grant does not allow for indirect costs, therefore, $1,684 is not recoverable. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. This action does not alter the budget constraining the expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. This grant will allow the Education Service Agency to create an online course titled AZ Teach 21. The course will be "AZ Teach 21." It is anticipated that at least 750 teachers will take this course.
