1. PRESENTATION REGARDING THE READING FOR THE STARS PROGRAM Presentation regarding the Reading for the Stars Program. Dr. Don Covey, Superintendent of Schools Angie Pogue, Director of Literacy Programs Reading for the Stars by Reading with the Stars is a program seeking to increase the competence and confidence of all participating students in the area of Reading. The program uses collaboration between the County School Superintendent’s Office, Board of Supervisors, Schools and Schools Districts, Community Business Partners, and Volunteers to create a school culture where all students know they can achieve their goals. The program also provides strategies, materials and incentives so teachers feel empowered and equipped to help all children reach academic and life goals. The presentation will explain the results of the program and provide an update of the program components. (C-37-13-007-P-00)
