SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD ELECTION CANCELLATIONS Pursuant to A.R.S. § 15-424(D), cancel the elections for the attached list of governing board positions in which only one person filed a nomination petition or a nomination paper as a write-in, and appoint the person who filed the nomination petition or nomination paper to fill the position. Also, declare vacant the governing board positions listed on the attachment for which no person filed nominating petitions or a nomination paper as a write-in and allow the Maricopa County Superintendent of Schools to appoint in accordance with A.R.S. § 15-302(A). 23. AMENDMENTS TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD ELECTION CANCELLATIONS Pursuant to A.R.S. § 15-424(D), cancel the elections for the attached list of governing board positions in which only one person filed a nomination petition or a nomination paper as a write-in, and appoint the person who filed the nomination petition or nomination paper to fill the position. Also, declare vacant the governing board positions listed on the attachment for which no person filed nominating petitions or a nomination paper as a write-in and allow the Maricopa County Superintendent of Schools to appoint in accordance with A.R.S. § 15-302(A). This action does the following due to judicial decisions made after the prior agenda was prepared: Rescind the cancelled election for East Valley Institute of Technology District 5. Both candidates Ronda Shumway Doolen and Erwin Erv Heimbuck will appear on the ballot in a contested race. (The court minute entries were in error at the time of prior approval.) Amend and add the following cancelled elections to prior agenda item approved on September 5, 2018: Cancel and BOS appoint Shelli Richardson Boggs to a 4-year term in East Valley Institute of Technology District 9 Cancel and BOS appoint Mark A. Aguire to a 4-year term in Liberty Elementary School District Cancel and BOS appoint Jeffrey C.
