19. APPLY AND ACCEPT THE DEVELOPING STEM IDENTITY GRANT FROM STATE FARM® Approve the application for and acceptance of $20,000 for the Developing STEM Identity Program Grant from State Farm®. The term of this grant is May 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022. The grant will target middle school students (Peoria Unified and Alhambra Elementary) during a critical period of academic development when interest in STEM disciplines typically begins to wane and gender and racial gaps become evident leading to decreased high school and post-secondary STEM students. The grant award is One-time, and a cash or in-kind match is not applicable. MCSS’s indirect rate for FY 2022 is 18.3 percent. The indirect cost rate allowed by this grant source is 0.0 percent. Total indirect costs on this award are $3,660.00 which are unallowable. No budget adjustment is required and ongoing cash contributions not applicable. There are no costs that will need to be absorbed by the department’s operating budget. This grant supports mandated services as described in ARS 15-302 sections 11 and 12. This grant is non-competitive. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. This action does not alter the budget constraining the expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. (C-37-22-022-X-00)
