A-2. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SETTLEMENT CASE NO. 13736902 Approve the third-party recovery settlement of $75,000.00 in Employee Benefits Case No. 13736902 for medical and related claims. The Employee Benefits Trust paid $316,749.83 in medical and related claims for a covered individual who was alleged to have been injured as a result of medical malpractice by her physician. A third-party recovery was obtained from the alleged physician-tortfeasor by the injured party. Compromise of the County’s lien must be approved by the Board of Supervisors per the Maricopa County Trust Declaration. The Board is requested to approve the settlement of the third-party reimbursement. This item was discussed in executive session on September 8, 2014. (C-39-15-005-2-00)
