A-2. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SETTLEMENT CASE # 25276648 Approve the third-party recovery settlement of $16,666.66 in Employee Benefits Case No. 25276648 for medical and related claims. The Employee Benefits Trust paid $153,429.01 in medical and related claims for a covered individual who was alleged to have been injured in a motor vehicle accident. A third-party recovery was obtained from the alleged tortfeasor by the injured party; however, recovery was substantially less than the claims paid. Compromise of the County’s lien must be approved by the Board of Supervisors per the Maricopa County Trust Declaration. The Board is requested to approve the settlement of the third-party reimbursement. This item was discussed in executive session on September 19, 2016. (C-39-17-002-2-00)
