45. EXCEPTION TO SPECIAL WORK ASSIGNMENT POLICY Approve an exception to the Special Work Assignment (SWA) Policy (B7001) to allow Craig Thompson, a Programmer Analyst Senior/Lead in the Office of Enterprise Technology, to receive a special work assignment during his first six (6) months of employment. The SWA Policy states “Any probationary, classified, contract or unclassified (but not including temporary) employee may be eligible for an SWA as long as he/she has been in his/her position for at least 6 months.” After Mr. Thompson was hired, it was determined he could contribute to the critical conversion of the County’s budget and finance system to CGI. His knowledge, skills, and abilities allowed him to be an important member of the CGI conversion team. An SWA will allow the County to retain this key employee. (C-41-17-001-M-00)
