19. EXEMPTION TO POST EMPLOYMENT HEALTH PLAN ENHANCEMENT (RETIREMENT) PROGRAM FOR TREASURER CHIEF DEPUTY POSITION Approve the creation of an unclassified position (Chief Deputy - Treasurer) in the Treasurer's Office. This position is necessary due to the current Chief Deputy's participation in the Post Employment Health Plan Enhancement (Retirement) Program (PEHPEP) which requires that the position (#8372) be eliminated. Creation of the new position is necessary to maintain business continuity. Also, approve an exemption to the PEHPEP in order to recruit for the Chief Deputy - Treasurer position with the hiring range of $42.61 to $59.62 which is more than the required recruiting range. Position #8372, in the Treasurer's Office, will be inactivated due to the incumbent's participation in the 2010 Post Employment Health Plan enhancement Program. The position attributes are as follows: MRT: Chief Deputy - Treasurer Status: Unclassified Budgeted Rate: $59.62 Due to the nature of this position, the Treasurer's Office believes it is necessary to replace position #8372 with a new position. The new position's attributes will be as follows: MRT: Chief Deputy - Treasurer Status: Unclassified Budgeted Rate: $59.62 The Treasurer's Office will achieve the required savings either through hiring a new employee at a lower rate of pay than the retiring employee or through other means. This will result in $12,401 annual savings as required under the 2010 retirement Health Enhancement Program. (C-43-10-015-M-00)
