66. MARICOPA COUNTY AGGREGATE MINING OPERATIONS ZONING DISTRICT #2 District 2 - initiate establishment of the Maricopa County Aggregate Mining Operations Zoning District #2 (a.k.a. Twin Knolls Aggregate Mining Operations Zoning District), to encompass an area bounded by the Boise St. alignment on the north, 85th Pl. on the east, Apache Trail on the south, and 81st St. on the west. The Board will subsequently appoint an equal number up to seven each of mining industry representatives (from active operations within the district or from within any other district in the county) and private citizens not affiliated with the mining industry who reside within a three-mile radius of the district boundary – to the Maricopa County Aggregate Mining Operations Zoning District #2 Recommendation Committee. The committee will serve as a mediation body between members of the public and mining operators, recommend administrative regulations for adoption by the Board, and hear complaints filed with and make recommendations to the State Mine Inspector’s Office.
