34. HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT (HIPAA) COMPLIANCE POLICY A2233 Approve the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Compliance Policy, A2233. This policy states that the County is in compliance with and will adhere to HIPAA and corresponding regulations and that the County is a "Hybrid Covered Entity" under HIPAA. It also requires the designation of a County Chief Privacy Officer as well as Privacy Officials in each HIPAA Covered Component of the County. Under this policy the Privacy Officer and Privacy Officials will coordinate their adherence to the policy through participation in the Privacy Team. (C-49-13-077-6-00)
