49. RESCISSION OF RISK MANAGEMENT POLICIES Approve the rescission of Risk Management policies A2207 Personal Protective Equipment, A2208 Safety Policy for Operating Equipment, A2209 Occupational Health Nurse, A2211 Safety Incentive Awards, A2212 Department Safety Committees and the Safety Policy Awards, A2215 First Aid Kits, A2217 Wearing of Personal Headphones, A2219 OSHA Record Keeping Requirements, A2220 Hearing Conservation, and A2224 OSHA Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout) Requirements. Policies A2207, A2208, A2211, A2212, A2215, A2217, A2219, A2220, and A2224 should be rescinded because they will be replaced by proposed policies A2234a through A2234z of the Injury Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP), if adopted. The IIPP meets the requirements of both State and federal safety regulations that require the County to have a series of health and safety policies tailored to the hazards of the workplace. The IIPP contains 14 standard, required chapters plus specifically chosen additional chapters covering the County’s safety policies, procedures, protective gear, hazard assessment, safety committees, etc. A2209 is being rescinded because the Occupational Health Nurse position is no longer being funded. In addition, most of the functions described in A2209 will be covered by the proposed IIPP policies. (C-49-15-059-6-00)
