50. POLICIES A2234A THROUGH A2234Z, THE INJURY AND ILLNESS PREVENTION PROGRAM Approve the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) which contains Policies A2234a through A2234z. The Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) meets the requirements of both state and federal safety regulations that require the County to have a series of health and safety policies tailored to the hazards of the workplace. The IIPP contains 14 standard, required chapters plus specifically chosen additional chapters covering the County’s safety policies, procedures, protective gear, hazard assessment, safety committees, etc. Goals of the IIPP are to provide a safe work environment, to minimize loss and human suffering, to provide common sense safety and health guidelines, and to supplement existing safety and health procedures at applicable worksites. 39. AMENDMENT TO POLICY ON CONFINED SPACE ENTRY PROGRAM Amend A2234k Confined Space Entry Program by updating language, based on OHSA recommendations, in regards to methods and responsibilities of workers in alerting rescue services for incidents in certain confined spaces. The Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) meets the requirements of both state and federal safety regulations that require the County to have a series of health and safety policies tailored to the hazards of the workplace.
