59. JUDICIAL OFFICER SALARY ADJUSTMENT Pursuant to ARS §42-17106B, authorize the following adjustment to the FY 2017 Budget: a) Decrease the expenditure authority for the Non-Departmental (D470) General Fund (100) Operating (OPER) in the line “Judges Salary Increase” (4711) in an amount of $25,982. b) Increase the expenditure authority in the Justice Courts (D240) General Fund (100) Operating (OPER) appropriation by an amount of $25,982. Approval of this action will fund the statutory required increase to salaries and associated benefits for Superior Court Judges, Commissioners and Justices of the Peace. These actions will have a County-wide net impact of zero and they do not alter the budget constraining the expenditure of local revenue duly adopted by the Board pursuant to ARS §42-17105. c) Authorize the Office of Management and Budget to adjust the Superior Court’s and Justice Court’s FY 2018 and FY 2019 Baseline Budgets for the annualized amount of the FY 2017 increase as well as the FY 2018 mid-year rate increase in the following amounts: a. Superior Court i. FY 2018: $617,707 ii.FY 2019: $207,951 b. Justice Courts I. FY 2018: $52,354 ii.FY 2019: $26,372 The Superior Court received grant funding for Fiscal Year 2017 to cover the cost of a Juvenile Court originally funded in the General Fund. As a result the Superior Court is achieving savings in the General Fund that will cover the cost of the judicial salary increase in the current Fiscal Year. In Fiscal Year 2018 and 2019 the Superior Court will need and adjustment for the annual amount of the increase for Judge’s in the General Fund as well as the Judge currently in the Grant Fund.
