The purpose of this funding is to strengthen both the prevention and response to events that could occur in the vicinity of the dam and is part of an overall regional security plan. A portion of this funding is specifically designated for the purchase of one submersible robot with associated sonar and imaging. The term of this award is September 1, 2008 through May 31, 2011. This funding was included in the Sheriff’s Office grant budget submission as "Buffer Zone Protection" for FY2010. Also, approve an exemption to the Technology Finance Program (TFP) for the one-time purchase of up to three Toughbook laptops, dive computers and specialized software and one submersible robot with associated sonar and imaging designated by AZDOHS for this project. These computers will be tracked separately from the Sheriff’s Office computers with no automatic replacement from the general fund at the end of their useful lives.
