12. AGREEMENT WITH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR THE 2009 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM PROJECT, MCSO RAPID RESPONSE TEAM ENHANCEMENT Approve the Agreement with the Arizona Department of Homeland Security for the 2009 Homeland Security Grant Program, MCSO Rapid Response Team (RRT) Enhancement (Project # 555811-02), and acceptance of up to $160,000. The term of the agreement is October 1, 2009 thru September 30, 2010. The Sheriff’s Office indirect cost rate for FY2010 is 16.6%. Unrecoverable indirect costs associated with this agreement are estimated to be $26,560. (C-50-10-056-G-00)

19. AMENDMENT TO THE SUBGRANTEE AGREEMENT FROM THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY – #555811-02 Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Subgrantee Agreement from the Arizona Department of Homeland Security, Project Number: 555811-02. This amendment extends the expiration date of the Agreement from September 30, 2010 until December 31, 2010. The original Agreement was approved by the Board of Supervisors on November 4, 2009, (C-50-10-056-G-00) with term of October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010. This amendment increases the length of term by three months. The original award was $160,000. Approval of this Amendment will enable the Sheriff’s Office to expend the remaining grant funds ($63,652) on items that will enhance the capabilities of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) to respond to serious incidents involving hostages or individuals that have been identified as having involvement in serious criminal offense and terrorist activities.
