A-1. ACCEPT FUNDS FROM ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION 2010 - IDEA SECURE CARE GRANT Approve acceptance of $15,000 in continued grant funding from the Arizona Department of Education, 2010 IDEA Secure Care Grant for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Jail Education Program. The term of this award is October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010. The funding will be used to purchase classroom equipment items. The Sheriff’s Office indirect cost rate for FY2010 is 16.6%. Unrecoverable indirect costs are estimated to be $215. The recoverable indirect cost is estimated to be $216. The grant allows 8% indirect cost recovery on operating costs totaling $2,700 only. $12,300 will be used to purchase non-capital equipment. The Sheriff's Office has participated in the County Jails Education Program for six years. (C-50-10-089-G-00)
