22. EXEMPTION TO THE POST EMPLOYMENT (RETIREMENT) HEALTH PLAN ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM FOR DETENTION CAPTAIN Approve an exemption to the Post Employment (Retirement) Health Plan Enhancement Program (PEHEP), approved by the Board of Supervisors on November 16, 2009, and allow the Detention Captain, position number 66638, to remain active. Also, approve an exemption to the PEHEP in order to recruit for one (1) Detention Officer Captain, PCN 66638, with a hiring range of $37.86 $41.01 per hour. The maximum entry salary cannot exceed 10% less than the departing employee's salary, or the top of the hiring range, whichever is less. The PEHEP requires that positions vacated as a result of the program participation be inactivated. MCSO has determined that maintaining this position is critical to the execution and success of Sheriff's custody operations and to meeting the Sheriff's Office mission. Recruiting at this range and filling this position will create no additional cost to the MCSO regular salaries line. The FY 2010 savings are estimated to be $3,686, and $10,972 annualized, as required by policy. (C-50-10-100-M-00)
