20. AGREEMENT WITH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR THE 2010 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM, VHF NARROWBANDING PROJECT – 777208-06 Approve an Agreement with the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS) for the 2010 Homeland Security Grant Program, VHF Narrowbanding (Project # 777208-06) and acceptance of up to $500,000. The term of this award is October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2011. Approval of this Agreement and acceptance of funding enables the Sheriff’s Office to upgrade the current VHF radio system to meet the 2013 FCC broadband guidelines. This upgrade is necessary for Maricopa County to retain its VHF license. This is new funding that will impact the overall Sheriff's Grant Fund appropriation. Therefore, a Sheriff's Grant Fund (251) reconciliation that includes this item is submitted to the Board for approval under separate cover. These revenues are not "local revenues" for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limit. The Sheriff’s Office indirect cost rate for FY2011 is 14% ($70,000). This is a capital purchase (920) therefore there are no indirect costs associated with this Agreement. (C-50-11-038-G-00)
