15. DISPOSAL OF PROPERTY THROUGH TRADE IN AND CAPITAL EQUIPMENT PURCHASE Approve the disposal by trade in of three GPS Tracking Units for $1,375. Also approve capital freeze exemptions to purchase three new GPS Tracking Units for $5,493 each. The proposed trade in units were purchased in 2007 with RICO funds and the new units will be purchased with budgeted RICO funds. These units will be shared by investigative staff in undercover investigations. The vendor is COBHAM. The upgrades include several useful features that enhance officer safety and the success of the investigation. The net purchase amount after trade-in, which includes battery packs, is estimated to be $14,873 plus any shipping and tax. (C-50-11-042-M-00)
