12. COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH FORT MCDOWELL YAVAPAI NATION CONCERNING CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION Approve a non-financial intergovernmental agreement between the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and Maricopa County on behalf of the Sheriff's Office for the purpose of designating Maricopa County Sheriff's Office as the delegated jurisdiction to register convicted sex offenders and maintain sex offender registration records from the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation according to Public Law 109-248, Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006. This agreement is effective on the date of the last signature and continues until terminated by either party. A two-week written notice is required for termination. Approval of this agreement enhances public safety in Maricopa County enabling the Tribe to comply with convicted sex offender reporting requirements while providing law enforcement improved records of convicted sex offenders in Maricopa County. ADMINISTRATIVE CORRECTION TO COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH FORT MCDOWELL YAVAPAI NATION CONCERNING CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION Approve an administrative correction to agenda item C-50-11-085-M-00 approved by the Board of Supervisors on June 8, 2011, regarding the Cooperative Agreement With Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Concerning Convicted Sex Offender Registration. Correction: A sixty day written notice is required for termination. The agenda item previously approved stated a two-week written notice was required for termination. (C-50-11-085-M-01)
