11. EXCEPTION TO THE POLICY FOR ADMINISTERING GRANTS (A2505) Authorize the following actions relating to Sheriff's grant fund (251) applications for FY 2013 funding: a. Approve an exception to the Policy for Administering Grants (A2505) Section D. 1 to the Sheriff's Office that would allow applications to be submitted for unnamed law enforcement or detention related grants and/or agreements that may or may not allow indirect cost recovery and that may or may not have match requirements. Approval of this item authorizes application only and does not commit either the Sheriff's Office or the County to accept funding. b. Authorize the Chairman to sign all applications, resolutions, certifications, assurances, etc. that are included in the grant application process. The Sheriff's Office will return to the Board for approval to accept any specific awards and corresponding agreements. Requests to accept awards or enter into agreements that are subsequent to this agenda will be presented as unique agenda items with separate tracking numbers. The Sheriff’s Office indirect cost rate for FY 2012 is 14.7%. The Board has approved similar annual requests from the Sheriff’s Office over the years. (C-50-12-054-G-00)
