14. AGREEMENT WITH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR THE 2012 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM, VHF NARROWBANDING PHASE III PROJECT – 999206-02 Approve an Agreement and acceptance of up to $63,455 in continued grant funding from the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS) for the 2012 Homeland Security Grant Program, VHF Narrowbanding Phase III (Project # 999206-02). The term of this award is October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013. Approval of this Agreement and acceptance of funding enables the Sheriff’s Office to complete the upgrade of the current VHF radio system to meet the 2013 FCC broadband guidelines. This upgrade is necessary for Maricopa County to retain its VHF license. The VHF system provides a vital form of communications with other agencies and departments for special events and search and rescue operations as well as multi jurisdictional enforcement activities. The Sheriff’s Office indirect cost rate for FY2013 is 14.1% ($8,947.16). This is a capital purchase therefore there are no indirect costs associated with this Agreement. (C-50-13-032-G-00)
