15. FUNDING FOR DIGITAL SYSTEM TO RECORD INVESTIGATIVE AND CRIMINAL INTERVIEWS AND COMPUTER CRIMES SERVER UPGRADE Pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17106(B), transfer FY 2013 expenditures appropriation of not-to-exceed $335,461 within from Non-Departmental (470) General Fund (100) Non-Recurring/Non-Project (0001) to Sheriff (500) General Fund (100) Non-Recurring/Non-Project (0001) so that a digital system to record investigative and criminal interviews can be purchased for $288,000 and critical server upgrades for Computer Crimes can occur for $47,461 including tax. If approved, this funding will provide a Digital System to record investigative and criminal interviews and will cover hardware, software, installation and training. Continuing costs are estimated to be $9,000 per year for system maintenance. The system will become the Sheriff’s Office standard for this function and will be deployed in district facilities and the Major Crimes Division. In addition, the same equipment will be installed for use by the Internal Affairs Division in the new headquarters building. The equipment and services will be purchased using existing County contracts. Funding for the server upgrades for Computer Crimes will provide immediate storage space, additional storage for continued growth and will replace current failing systems. These items are above and beyond the Sheriff's Office normal operating base appropriation and cannot be procured without contingency funding. They are necessary to support the County's Public Safety.
