12. FUNDING FOR AMMUNITION AND TARGET RANGE EQUIPMENT Pursuant to A.R.S. § 42-17106(B): 1) transfer FY 2013 expenditure appropriation of not to exceed $750,000 from Non-Departmental (470) General Fund (100) Operating (0000) to Sheriff (500) General Fund (100) Operating (0000), and 2) transfer $180,000 from Non-Departmental (470) General Fund (100) Non-Operating/Non-Recurring (0001) to Sheriff (500) General Fund (100) Non-Operating/Non-Recurring (0001). These transfers will fund ammunition and target range equipment necessary for maintaining Peace Officer certification requirements and also complying with best practices as recommended by the Department of Justice recommendation that each deputy receive use of force training and firearms training twice a year. The non-recurring funding will allow the one-time purchase of ammunition for the initial training and qualification of the new standard rifles being issued to Sheriff’s deputies. (C-50-13-048-M-00)
