6. POLICE WEEK AND PEACE OFFICERS' MEMORIAL DAY Approve and proclaim the week of May 12 - 18, 2013, as National Police Week and Wednesday, May 15th, 2013 as Peace Officers' Memorial Day. Also direct County Departments to display US flags at half mast on May 15th per Public Law 103-322. This proclamation is in recognition and honor of those, particularly the men and women of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, who dedicate their lives daily to provide a vital public service and to honor those law enforcement officers who, through their courageous deeds, have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their community or have become disabled in the performance of duty while safeguarding the rights and freedoms of the citizens of Maricopa County.
