22. ADDITIONS TO FLEET FOR THE PATROL DISTRICTS Approve permanent additions to fleet of 40 vehicles for the Patrol Districts. Thirty-five (35) Chevy Patrol Tahoes and five (5) Detective Tahoes. These vehicles are to be delivered and deployed as soon as possible to the Sheriff's Patrol Districts. Approval of this item will help address a shortfall of vehicles as substantiated in the MGT study. The resulting increase in vehicles will prevent deputies waiting for cars at shift change and facilitate more consistent coverage when vehicles are out for repairs and operational maintenance.
