17. MULTI AGENCY INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR ARIZONA CHILD ABDUCTION RESPONSE TEAM (CART) Approve a multi-agency intergovernmental agreement for the creation and participation in the Arizona Child Abduction Response Team (CART). Parties to this agreement are the City of Apache Junction, the City of Chandler, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Town of Gilbert, the Town of Maricopa, the City of Mesa, the Town of Paradise Valley, the City of Phoenix, the City of Scottsdale, and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. This Agreement becomes effective upon execution by the parties and filing with the appropriate County Recorder (if required) and distribution to each member agency. It shall remain in effect until July 1, 2020. Parties may withdraw from this Agreement with or without cause by giving 30 calendar days written notice. Approval of this Agreement enables the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office to participate in the creation of an Arizona Child Abduction Response Team (CART) whose primary goal is to provide a pool of specialized investigators with a focus on dedicated and intensive investigative, preventive, and general law enforcement efforts primarily with regard to cases involving abducted children. This is a non-financial agreement. Each agency is responsible for its own costs associated with participating in this effort and no additional costs are anticipated. (C-50-14-009-M-00)
