10. RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF PROJECTS FOR CONSIDERATION IN ARIZONA’S 2015 HIGHWAY SAFETY PLAN Adopt a Resolution approving application and acceptance of up to $459,943 in reimbursable grant funding from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS). This pass through federal funding will be used for overtime and equipment, including the purchase of 1 aggressive driver vehicle, to accomplish projects relating to all aspects of highway safety. The anticipated term of the funding is October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015. The Sheriff’s Office indirect cost rate for FY2014 is 18.4%. Unrecoverable indirect costs associated with this grant funding are estimated to be $74,826.36. There will be capital equipment purchased which has been excluded from the indirect cost calculation. 12. ONE-TIME ADDITION TO FLEET AND EXEMPTION FROM MARKINGS AND THE ISSUANCE OF NON-GOVERNMENT LICENSE PLATE OF ONE GRANT FUNDED SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE Approve a one-time addition to fleet of one 4x4 Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) valued at $47,000. The Sheriff’s Office was awarded funding designated for this purchase from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, approved by the Board of Supervisors on March 26, 2014 (C-50-14-057-G-00). Also, approve per A.R.S. 38-538.03 exemptions from markings and the issuance of non-government license plate. This vehicle will be used to identify and take enforcement action on aggressive drivers, impaired drivers, seatbelt and child safety seat use, speed and other highway safety related laws to reduce injuries and fatalities throughout Maricopa County. The estimated annual operating costs of this vehicle is $5,000 to be supported through the Patrol and Enforcement Support Bureau, Lake Patrol Division General Fund (100). This is one-time addition to the fleet and will be retired at the end of its useful life with no funding from the general fund for its replacement. (C-50-15-058-G-00)
