6. EXEMPTIONS FROM MARKINGS FOR UNDERCOVER VEHICLES GOING INTO SERVICE Approve per A.R.S. 38-538.03 exemptions from markings and undercover license plate designations for 58 county Fleet replacement vehicles assigned to the Sheriff’s Office for undercover operations. The safety of the deputy and the success of investigative operations requires these vehicles be exempt from markings. Board approval is required because by law, authorization for exemption from markings is vehicle specific, good for one year, and does not automatically transfer to replacement vehicles.
