14. ARIZONA AUTO THEFT AUTHORITY FUNDING FOR THE LAW ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM-BAIT VEHICLE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS Approve the Agreement and acceptance of $11,431.80 in continued grant funding from the Arizona Automobile Theft Authority, FY2015 AATA Law Enforcement Grant. The term of this funding is July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. Any resulting grant fund budget adjustments from this action will be handled in the Sheriff’s grant fund FY 2015 mid-year appropriation adjustment request to the Board in January. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. The Sheriff’s Office indirect cost rate for FY2015 is 15.7% ($1,794.79). This is a capital equipment purchase that is excluded from the indirect cost calculation. Approval to accept this funding will enable the Sheriff’s Office to purchase two complete Bait Vehicle Surveillance Systems to conduct details in areas that have a high rate of vehicle theft and conduct investigations of organized auto theft syndicates operating within Maricopa County.
