12. ACCEPTANCE OF ENTITLEMENT FUNDS FROM ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE 2015 COUNTY JAILS EDUCATION PROGRAM Approve acceptance of $152,926.02 in continued funding from the Arizona Department of Education, FY2015 County Jails Education Program for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Jail Education Program. The Sheriff’s Office indirect cost rate for FY15 is 15.7%. Unrecoverable indirect costs associated with this funding are estimated to be $24,009.39. These funds are used for the Sheriff’s Office Jail Education Program and the funding is based on student count that is submitted to the Arizona Department of Education each year. The Sheriff’s Office has participated in the County Jails Education Program for over fifteen (15) years. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore expenditure of the revenues is not prohibited by budget law. The approval of this funding does not alter the budget constraining expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant A.R.S. 42-17105. The Sheriff's overall grant budget will be adjusted as necessary to accommodate this grant through a future reconciliation. (C-50-15-040-G-00)
