18. MOU WITH MARICOPA COUNTY OFFICE OF ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY FOR BACK UP HELICOPTER TRANSPORTATION SERVICE Approve a Memorandum of Understanding between the Sheriff’s Office and the Office of Enterprise Technology, Radio Division, whereby the Sheriff’s Office will provide backup helicopter transportation when the contracted commercial vendor is unable to deliver service. The understanding is retroactively effective to July 1, 2014 and will continue through June 30, 2017. It can be cancelled by either party at any time with a 2-week written notice. The Sheriff’s Office will charge a two-hour minimum cost for fuel per service request, which is approximately 102 gallons of fuel with additional time being billed in 10-minute increments (8.5 gallons) of fuel. The cost of fuel will be based on the rate at the time of service. Because this is back up service, less than 10 calls for service per year are anticipated. The Sheriff’s Office provided emergency service in FY 2015 during the late summer monsoon and this is why the understanding is dated back to July 1, 2014. (C-50-15-076-M-00)

15. MOU WITH MARICOPA COUNTY OFFICE OF ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY FOR BACK UP HELICOPTER TRANSPORTATION SERVICE Approve a Memorandum of Understanding between Office of Enterprise Technology, Radio Division and Maricopa County through the Sheriff's Office. The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to provide backup helicopter transportation when the contracted commercial vendor is unable to deliver service. This Memorandum of Understanding is effective from July 1, 2017 until June 30, 2020 and can be canceled by either party with a two-week notice. The Sheriff’s Office will charge a two-hour minimum cost for fuel per service request, which is approximately 102 gallons of fuel with additional time being billed in 10-minute increments (8.5 gallons) of fuel. The cost of fuel will be based on the rate at the time of service. Annual costs are estimated not to exceed $6,000. MCSO has been providing this service since July 2014.
