A-3. SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE WITH EMERGENCY VEHICLES, INC. FOR INVESTIGATIVE VEHICLE INTEGRATION EQUIPMENT Approve the Sole Source purchase with Emergency Vehicles, Inc. in the amount of $250,000. This request will support the customization of an existing undercover investigative fleet vehicle to be used for surveillance operations and investigations throughout MCSO. This one-time purchase will be governed by PO terms and conditions and subject to legal review. The proposed vehicle customization includes the installation and integration of various proprietary equipment components. This includes covert placement of equipment for concealment in undercover operations and sensitive investigations such as homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics and missing person cases. The proposed vendor is the only vehicle integrator and authorized installation facility for much of this technology and equipment. They have worked closely with the equipment manufacturers to design and develop the appropriate installation techniques to ensure optimal functionality and reliability of the equipment.
